SECURITY AND BUSINESS CONTINUITY FOR THE COMPANY
PROJECT CO-FINANCED BY THE PR FESR 2021–2027
Sinergia S.p.A. has launched a cybersecurity implementation project as part of its Strategic Digitalization Plan, funded under the Regional Programme of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2021–2027 of the Lombardy Region through the call for proposals “Digital Transition of Lombardy Enterprises”.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Sinergia CyberGuard project implements the company’s Strategic Digitalization Plan by strengthening the cybersecurity of all IT systems, data assets, and critical business operations.
The initiative was driven by the need, identified during the preliminary context analysis, to enhance the level of protection against detected cyberattack attempts and to ensure business continuity.
To define intervention priorities, the company adopted a structured cybersecurity approach based on security assessments, risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing, in accordance with GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001, and NIS2 requirements.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
- Strengthen the protection of IT systems, Operational Technology (OT), and IoT devices.
- Implement real-time threat monitoring and detection through a dedicated Security Operations Center (SOC).
- Achieve 100% cybersecurity awareness training coverage for employees within 6 months.
- Improve backup processes, Recovery Time Objective (RTO), and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) within 8 months.
- Integrate Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across 100% of critical and sensitive services within 9 months.
- Reduce Mean Time to Respond (MTTR) to security incidents by 20% within 10 months.
- Significantly decrease the frequency and impact of cyberattacks within 12 months of SOC deployment.

- Promotion of a corporate culture focused on cybersecurity awareness and best practices.
- Long-term sustainability of the digital infrastructure through reduced energy waste and optimized resource management, in line with UNI/PdR 147 – DiSI Corporate guidelines.
